Omar Abduljalil
President
Omar is a part-time student in the Ted Rogers MBA program and the founder of the Fintech Club. He also works at Fidelity Investments as an Emerging Technologies Specialist, where he plays consulting and project management roles as it relates to Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing. Omar studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto and has worked in various financial institutions in Toronto, including CIBC and Mackenzie Investments. During his free time, Omar's other passion is soccer, where he plays and coaches on a regular basis, with his favorite team being Chelsea FC. Blue is the Color!
Jessica Vomiero
Head of Social Media
Jessica is a digital media strategist and editor based in Toronto. Her primary interests include business, finance consumer trends and the Canadian innovation economy and she's currently working as an Associate Editor with LowestRates.ca - Canada's largest rate comparison website. She's appeared as a financial expert on CTV News, Radio NL and CJAD. Previously, she spent two and a half years as a National Online Journalist with Globalnews.ca, where she covered global business and economic trends and frequently discussed her stories on Corus radio affiliates. In the fall of 2020, she'll complete her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Ryerson’s Ted Rogers School of Management.
Rahul Rasam
Head of Events
Rahul is a certified Healthcare Professional from the United States with four years of professional experience. His primary interests include project management and process improvement and has conducted extensive work in these areas. He last worked at VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia where he served as Safety Coordinator and successfully designed protocols ensuring safe employee practices. In summer of 2021, he will complete his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Ryerson’s Ted Rogers School of Management.
Anthony Castiglione
Head of Consulting
Anthony is currently a full-time MBA student at Ryerson University. Prior to joining the MBA program, he had completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting also at Ryerson. His primary interests include business, finance and technological trends. Anthony has previously worked in accounting at York University, TTC and the City of Toronto. Upon graduation in the summer of 2021, Anthony would like to work in a managerial capacity at a financial institution.
Bipun Thapa
Head of Research
Bipun is graduate of UoGuelph and Humber College and has 12 years of experience in utility sector as Telecom Engineer, Sr. Information Security Specialist and in Data governance roles. In his spare time, he enjoys following and analyzing sports, understanding how stock market reacts to consumer sentiment and reading up on data-driven solutions to real life problems. He manages and plays in various soccer leagues with major involvement in Ontario Hydro Soccer League.
